Black anchors or Black cultural alliances are being kicked out of newsrooms or surreptitiously demoted because racist ownership or leadership doesn’t want them to consistently share Black Americans’ grievances on air. Black politicians, it seems, are being systematically precluded from serving on U.S. Senate committees with oversight that guard against the untimely demises of our children or effectively manage our hard-earned tax dollars. And the only thing “token Negroes,” “house Negroes,” and “sell-out Negroes” can tell Black people to do is stay calm and “be quiet,” because we are angering Massa (what the hell, Gus!). Why aren’t Black people serving on those committees? As they currently are, those committee bodies mentioned appear racist regardless of the intellectual and ethical motives involved. Because of modern-day racism, accelerated by “Trumpism,” Black political power is on its death bed right now. If Black Americans don’t find a cure fast, Black culture will merely be a shadow of the brilliant legacy it created that is so eloquently portrayed in America’s history books.
