Half of the world’s population use the internet for a variety of reasons. From research initiatives, entertainment, social networking, to facilitating business transactions, access to information has become almost unlimited. While the internet and the social media, in particular, play the key role in information dissemination, the accuracy and truthfulness of web content is not always impeccable. As the author of this blog, my approach is not to promote a self-righteous attitude, but instead, try to provide as much useful and interesting content as possible without creating information overload.
Nevertheless, it’s undeniable how social media has ultimately affected the “vox populi,” setting a mindset that can either be rooted in facts or mere presumptions. Speculations arise, situations are manipulated wherein constructive ambiences are not always the end result.
