No pun intended, but let’s be honest about how the mainstream media’s approach is to Black news anchors: Black news anchors are often held hostage to the white-owned media agendas (i.e., internal interests, narratives, talking points, prioritized news events, etc.) and the luring multi-million-dollar contracts that accommodate them. It’s a classic carrot-and-stick strategy to keep Negro journalists and talking heads away from the ongoing horrible conditions of the ghettos and on topic with what the elites and white folks can tolerate on a daily basis.
