It’s an unsettling state of affairs when we allow ourselves to experience so much paralysis when thinking about how the corporate media may impact our livelihoods if our support for one another or investment interest in each other runs counter to what the media believe our prevailing interest ought to be.
For decades, the media has used “divide and conquer” (PDF) strategies against Negroes who either accidentally or voluntarily ended up on its payroll or within its radius of influence, where the media would harbor immediate interest in those individuals, their companies, and the ideas that are associated with them.
