In partnership with America’s mainstream media and other cable TV networks, Big Pharma promotes diseases, facilitates the beginning and/or progression of diseases as it endeavors to cure them, and then rakes in hundreds of billions of dollars in profit centered on the notion that it has the public’s best welfare at heart. Akin to the dependency on oil, it’s a dark and revolving capitalistic scheme that has America by the throat.
If Big Pharma was so concerned about public welfare and not profit margins, then why would so much emphasis be put on TV commercials and select internet mediums rather than promoting their drugs out of the public’s view and only to the procurement departments of the healthcare industry?
With individual household target market capabilities, Big Pharma’s television commercials induce stress, and stress facilitates the development of diseases. According to a 2017 Harvard Medical School publication, “the United States and New Zealand are the only countries where drug makers are allowed to market prescription drugs directly to consumers.”
