For me personally, love, peace,
prosperity, and awareness are how I
interpret the basic meanings of Kwanzaa.

I hope this year’s celebration of Kwanzaa brings you and your families peace, prosperity, and a renewed energy to keep fighting the good fights. I’m also reminded each year that the celebration of Kwanzaa is a reciprocation of good deeds. I intend to participate in that branch of the jubilation as often as I can.
What is Kwanzaa? The short definition is that it’s an annual celebration observed in the United States. It’s a celebration of African culture. The cultural event is also celebrated in other parts of the world where there is a high concentration of the African diaspora, including countries such as Brazil, Canada, France, and Great Britain. In the U.S., the celebration extends from December 26th to the 1st of January of each subsequent year.
