If you’ve an interest in America’s military and war history then maybe the 2019 version of “Midway” is worth augmenting your prized DVD/Blu-ray collection. There are some noteworthy bad reviews around this latest version compared to its predecessors, a version released in 1976, and the Tora! Tora! Tora! film released in 1970. However, I enjoyed the 2019 release, and would recommend it for purchasing as the movie held my interest for the entire length shown, and that’s not an easy task considering my daily activities. Incidentally, there was a scene that appeared to depict Admiral Chester Nimitz pinning the Navy Cross on Doris Miller at an awards ceremony, but it was merely an eye-blink of footage.
