As proof that the industry is plunging faster and faster toward dinosaur status, one has to wonder: will traditional news media rebound and emerge as a more sinister AI mechanical dinosaur? Why is America’s news industry being torn to shreds? And it comes as no surprise that the phenomenon is slowing sucking the life out of the industry.
My supposition is that when an industry exploits what is supposed to be a moral tool, but in sinister ways (i.e., sensationalized news, being an alarmist industry, secretly violating citizens’ privacy, paying bribes, trading sex for information, taking more interest into being a celebrity than a stewardship of the journalism profession, pandering to celebrities, engaging in unethical business practices to boost revenues or generate profit, promoting seductive journalism, propping up extremely corrupt advertising agencies to fund operations, often not impartial while covering the news, employing discriminatory or racial hiring practices, etc.), then it can ultimately boomerang a negative energy that comes back to haunt and destroy it.
This may also interest you: “Four-in-ten Black Americans say that the issues and events most important to them are often covered in the outlets they get news from…” | And this, Although trust would be a term I’d apply very lightly, how would I rank the social media tech CEOs who testified before Congress on their trustworthiness, with (1) being the most trustworthy and (5) being the least trustworthy? Here goes—
1. Jason Citron (Company, CEO of Discord)
2. Mark Zuckerberg (Company, CEO of Meta)
3. Evan Spiegel (Company, CEO of Snap)
4. Linda Yaccarino (Company, CEO of X) Like “the fox guarding the hen house.”
5. Shou Chew, (Company, CEO of TikTok)
Additional insights: It’s no wonder my X account appears to be shadow-banned. Apparently the mainstream media has a confidant in Yaccarino who’s heading X now. All of a sudden, my posts on the platform, which normally target the mainstream media and its journalists, stopped getting any views or traffic. One of the media’s own darlings is likely censoring my account. Which is also why the industry is falling apart, because it is partial toward its critics. Just like the mainstream media is making a concerted effort to destroy social media companies because it feels they are contributing to their demise by absorbing an incredible high percentage of paid advertisement funds—and being a “go-to” medium for the news—that same media is secretly making a concerted effort to preclude an erection of the news monitoring and censuring idea, “all things STUPID about the news,” and for obvious reasons.
