“RACISM” in the U.S.
Jim Crow’s inventor per

In recent months and years, polarizing segments of America’s political and ruling classes appear to have launched a full-throttle assault on our nation’s democratic infrastructure. What’s more disturbing is that African Americans are being re-subjected to some of our nation’s worst behaviors—Jim Crow and White supremacy. On the other hand, the freedoms of African Americans are being eroded by token Negroes who’d sell their own mothers “down the river.” Needless to say, protecting the freedoms of Black Americans distinguishes the token Negro as aloof and indifferent. Money is the only thing that matters, regardless of any ripple effects it causes.
In this day and age, I believe America’s democracy is being shredded and Black Americans’ freedom is being rolled back to the fifties and, in some contexts, hundreds of years ago. In essence, the plantation never left—only camouflaged to hide its ugly past. I also believe that desperate times call for desperate measures. Why can’t Black Americans, women, other marginalized groups, and poor people pull together and challenge Jim Crow and white supremacy with the same tenacity and stamina as Jack Johnson in the late 19th century? Regardless of what race we are, one can’t help but admire Jack Johnson’s approach to white supremacy during his heyday, as his biography reads in part, “Born in the immediate aftermath of Reconstruction, Johnson leveraged the brutal structure of segregated boxing to achieve global fame, thereby violating nearly every prevailing social and legal norm designed to constrain African Americans.”
White supremacy and Jim Crow 2.0, reinvigorated, are alive and well today. America needs its version of Jack Johnson today. Regardless of race, let’s start snubbing our noses at these demonic social and political behaviors of America’s past. Modern-day slave masters, closet racists, token Negroes, house Negroes, and tyranny are on track to literally destroy America from the inside out. Those are some of my elementary views on America’s illnesses today.
