Special Note: There are a lot of good people fighting to save America’s democracy from the evils of white supremacy and classism, as well as attacks on the sick, elderly, and poor. However, I’d like to personally acknowledge the extraordinarily hard work Justin Pearson and Justin Jones are doing to align with the late John Lewis’ quote when he so famously stated, “Get in good trouble, necessary trouble, and help redeem the soul of America.” It’s my hope that America’s affluent Black community, lawyers, and scholars alike are providing the young politicians with everything they need to succeed. Their courage and work are a stark glimpse into our nation’s fifties and sixties, where young Black activists and politicians faced some of America’s worst political and civil unrest. God bless!
