Unquestionably A Corporate Surveillance State
“Does the cable company know what I am viewing on my TV? What do they do with that information?”
What’s more disturbing is that these companies can often be well apprised of consumers’ health, financial, and social statuses; in such a way as to secretly tailor certain products and services around a consumer’s personal and professional lives. It’s a wicked form of capitalism and civil liberties violations that often involves unscrupulous acts on the part of both corporate and government entities alike.
