The Admirable Melissa Murray

Melissa Murray is one of my favorite Black female news commentators nowadays.

Here’s why: I see her as being acutely smart and calm during commentaries. She has a great sense of humor. Her camera presence is good. She appears comfortable in her own skin and is not trying to sexualize (employing seductive journalism behaviors) parts of her anatomy while on set. Doesn’t engage in any bizarre feminist distractions while on air. She doesn’t over-dramatize the news. She doesn’t appear robotic and corrupted by the corporate media’s hierarchy. And quite frankly, she simply provides TV audiences with the news and political facts based on her research and how she has interpreted them.

So my resounding question to mainstream media is—why isn’t Mrs. Miller either anchoring or co-anchoring her own news show? Considering her public credentials, perhaps she likes teaching better than her role as a TV news commentator. All things considered, Melissa, in my opinion, is a model citizen and a great commentary for America’s mainstream media, and the news industry should feel lucky to have her.
