Social Media’s Adverse Effect On People’s Brains

Taking into consideration the increasing number of lawsuits filed against social media companies (i.e., Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Meta, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, etc.) due to their platforms’ addictive content or algorithms, could similar lawsuits be filed against the mainstream media if an individual decides to shoot an image projected on his or her smart TV? The premise on which the lawsuit might be brought is that TV advertisers repeatedly aired the same “asinine” commercials to the viewer in close sequences. Therefore, the frequency with which the “asinine” commercials were shown and not their lack of creativity incited the viewer’s deranged and violent behavior. Perhaps the circumstances could be used by the shooter to mount a medical defense worth millions of dollars?

Fictitious clinician’s exam: What if the shooter’s delusional and insane behavior derived from thoughts that read like, “Yes, they are all racist, biased, sneaky, meddling, wickedly intrusive, lying, and thieving cowards!” Boom! Boom! There goes the TV. The public’s response.
