We as a culture cannot continue to avoid placing value on things that are near and dear to us — while letting White, Anglo-Saxon origin cultures do it for us. In doing so, it will only allow a lopsided system of corporate and state entities, pilfer, repurpose, and trivialize our most prized ideas. Likewise, measured actions on our part, to include enormous investments, must be at the center of our initiatives to compete culturally — on a world stage. Needless to muse that self-centeredness, envy, and destructive behaviors won’t allow our culture to see that value through. More importantly, we’re a cultural peer group, not purely a cultural commodity.
