First, what is Roe v. Wade?
Black men will be disproportionately affected in that the number of child support enforcement cases will rise. Because young black men are far more likely to be unemployed or underemployed than their white counterparts, there will be a greater inability to meet child support obligations. As a result, more young black men will be imprisoned, which will increase the concern around America’s prison industrial complex. This is a dark truth in the wake of overturning Roe vs. Wade that many scholars may be hesitant to talk about.
