Here’s another brilliant idea: how about pairing such a news anchor with Poppy Harlow to see how she holds up under the weight of America’s highly diverse audiences, and let’s see those dynamics at play? I see that it’s easy for CNN and its industry colleagues to pair white heterosexual male anchors with black female journalists in prime-time TV slots. What’s wrong with demonstrating the flip side of diversity, equity, and inclusion in spaces that are prone to biased behaviors? It’s hard to stay immersed in finding the truth, CNN.
