There are no hard feelings toward our LGBTQ brothers and sisters. However, for CNN, why remains the proverbial question?
Will the heterosexual black male news anchor become a burning man, blown to smithereens, or assassinated for endeavoring to call out any network’s idiosyncrasies and biases toward heterosexual black male news anchors? Here’s another brilliant idea: how about pairing such a news anchor with Poppy Harlow to see how she holds up under the weight of America’s highly diverse audiences, and let’s see those dynamics at play? I see that it’s easy for CNN and its industry colleagues to pair white heterosexual male anchors with black female journalists in prime-time TV slots. What’s wrong with demonstrating the flip side of diversity, equity, and inclusion in spaces that are prone to biased behaviors? It’s hard to stay immersed in finding the truth, CNN.
