Food For Thought: The world’s largest American company’s market cap is $2,100,000,000,000.00 [2.1T]. FY 2020, the world’s largest Black-owned business posted revenues over $13,000,000,000.00 [13.4B], which unfortunately is less than one percent of what the world’s largest company is worth.
Reality Check: Thirteen [13] billion is a lot of revenue, and my hats off to the Black-owned company that put up those fiscal year numbers. However, should we be boasting about such numbers when America’s preferential treatment to White-owned businesses has historically caused an enormous disadvantage for Black businesses, effectively choking off generational Black wealth for many more decades in the making? — The truth is the truth.
