If you can trace your ancestral roots to the continent of Africa, particularly to geographical origins that sustained the Transatlantic Slave Trade, then swimming is your DNA.
According to an article written in The Daily Beast titled “The Louisiana Drowning: Why Many Blacks Can’t Swim,” Agnes Davis, President and CEO of [Swim, Swim, Swim, I Say] once stated, “if a slave could swim, he could escape, so a fear of water was put into people, and that fear has been passed down throughout the generations.” There has also been historical inferences that prior to America’s Civil War there were more Blacks in the nation that knew how to swim than their White counterparts.

Aside from struggling with ways in which Black kids may receive a strong education, martial arts and/or the military is a great way for them to acquire outstanding discipline; transforming boys into lions and girls into lionesses.
